SEMINAR AND ROUND TABLE DISCUSSION IN SUPPORT OF EUROPEAN CHILDREN AFFECTED BY MIGRATION

Dears,
YOU ARE INVITED TO AN IMPORTANT SEMINAR AND ROUND TABLE DISCUSSION IN SUPPORT OF EUROPEAN CHILDREN AFFECTED BY MIGRATION TUESDAY MAY 15TH 6.00PM EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT, RUE WIERTZ, BRUSSELS ROOM A3H1 BUILDING ALTIERO SPINELLI
Dedicated staff in schools and hard pressed parents in families across Europe are facing an enormous challenge to nurture and educate the rising number of children in Europe who have suffered separation and loss either by migration from their family's country of birth or by being left behind by parents emigrating for work in another country. Research shows that the effects on the Social and Emotional Wellbeing of displaced children in WW2 has lasted for 3 generations. The Erasmus + funded project Including Children Affected by Migration (ICAM) has developed the first European programme designed to support school staff and parents/carers to repair and sustain the Social and Emotional Wellbeing of the 25 million European children in refugee, migrant and emigrant families. Without this intervention Europe is facing a major long term social welfare problem and the rights of the child are being denied to the most vulnerable children in our society Already successfully trialled and tested the ICAM programme is ready for dissemination to all countries. PLEASE REPLY TO THE ATTACHED INVITATION AND HELP FIND WAYS TO PROMOTE THIS BADLY NEEDED SUPPORT FOR THE MOST VULNERABLE CHILDREN IN OUR SOCIETY
